Quick update & a quick story!

Still prepping for the start of my challenge on January 6 and
so glad to have two weeks off over xmas to plan and practise.
Have you ever played the Yesterday
I game? It’s great for when you have writer’s block and just want to write
something, anything… even if it isn’t very good.
You give yourself five minutes in which to write something
which starts with the words Yesterday I. No
planning, no edits (unless you write something so amazing it’s worth developing…
to date I never have).
A few which I’ve done have started…
Yesterday I licked a
toilet seat
Yesterday I went on a
date
Yesterday I died
It’s a good warm up activity, even though you rarely write
anything award winning. Here’s one I just did.
Yesterday I went to
the beach with Mum and Gracie and Paul. We took a picnic and we body boarded
and then we played the find and seek game. It was Mum’s idea.
We all had 20 minutes
to find different things and the winner was the person who found the most of
their thing. Gracie was looking for metal, I had to find plastic, Paul had to
find wrappers and mummy looked for glass.
I won the game
because I found 11 plastic bottles, two plastic boxes and a flip flop. Gracie could
only find 9 cans and Paul found 12 wrappers. Mum hurt her hand on the glass
but she was ok. Because I won, I got to choose what we had for tea.
I love the beach.
Anyway, I am off to the beach for real now, for an ice cream
and to plan some more stories for January. So far the only person who has challenged
me is Brigid and I think I have come up with something…
Thank you for the sponsorship so far. Given my stories will probably
all be min. 1000 words (possibly less the day I have my wisdom teeth out!!!) I’m
going to be writing 30,000 words in 30 days between Jan 6 and Feb 4! Sponsor me here, and check out how you can influence the
story in the details:
